JMP 14

Log in to software.unc.edu using your ONYEN credentials and click on “Shop as a Student” on the left side.  Type “JMP” in the search bar and add the version corresponding with your  Operating System (Mac or Windows) to your cart.  Proceed to checkout and wait 1-5 business days for your order. You’ll receive updates via your school email. *Make sure that your email in the UNC directory has been changed to the UNC Kenan-Flagler address, or they won’t be able to send the link to your email.  You can do so at https://connectcarolina.unc.edu.  Click on Personal information, then on the left menu, click on Email Addresses.  Click on Add Email Address, and enter your Kenan-Flagler email address.

Windows Installation

*Make sure  you have Microsoft Excel Installed before you start the install.
  1. Double click the folder downloaded from software acquisition. It should be named similarly to “JMPPRO14X64”
  2. Click through the folders to get to the installer:JMPPRO14X64 > JMP > JMP_PRO > 14_0 > Windows > Setup (application)
  3. Double-click on the Setup application. Click on install and let the installer run.
  4. Click “Next” when prompted, and be sure the “Excel Add-In” box is checked in the Installation Options screen.
  5. Click “Install” and wait for the final portion of the setup.
  6. Click “Finish” when the installation is finished.
You can choose to register your product now or do it later, it will not impact your usage.

Apple Installation

*Make sure  you have Microsoft Excel Installed before you start the install.
  1. Double click the folder downloaded from software acquisition. It should be named similarly to JMPPRO14OSX.
  2. It should create a folder named similar to “JMPPRO13MAC”. Double click the folder and navigate the following folders:JMP -> JMP_Pro -> 14_0 -> Macintosh -> JMP-Install.dmg
  3. JMP-14 should then mount to your computer. If it does not automatically open, navigate to your  Finder and open it from there.
  4. Double click the “JMP Pro 14.pkg” file and follow the installer’s prompts.
  5. Unmount the JMP-14 drive after the installation finishes by clicking the eject icon next to the “JMP-14-Installer” drive in your Finder.

License Updating

  1. Your JMP license is set to expire in a year. To renew it, simply go to the link:
  2. http://software.unc.edu/sas
  3. Enter your ONYEN credentials  then select the “JMP” option from the dropdown menu.
  4. Fill out the fields with the proper information and download the license file from the website.
  5. Save the license file somewhere you can remember.
  6. Open JMP and navigate to the “Help” drop-down menu.
  7. Click “Renew License” and navigate to your saved license file.  Follow the prompts and JMP will renew itself for another year.
