Qualtrics Surveys
Qualtrics is a powerful, browser-based survey platform that requires no software installation and can be accessed from anywhere. It offers a robust set of features that will serve the full range of our school's needs, including:
Beyond its features, UNC Qualtrics has been approved by the UNC Information Security Office for the collection and storage of sensitive data, including Protected Health Information (PHI), with a Business Associates Agreement in place between UNC-Chapel Hill and Qualtrics. This gives us confidence that our data is handled securely and in compliance with university policy.
As a campus-supported platform, Qualtrics also provides access to dedicated UNC support resources, including the ITS Service Desk, Qualtrics' own technical support team, and consulting services through the Odum Institute for Research in Social Science.

- To contact Qualtrics Support by chat or email:
- Use the “Help” option in the top right corner of every screen when logged into your Qualtrics account.
- Look for the option to “sign in with SSO” and enter “unc” as the organization ID.
- Click on "Get Technical Support", then "Survey Platform". You can choose between chat, phone, and email.

- Submit a ticket by clicking the Get Qualtrics Support
- Support: Monday - Friday, 8 am-5 pm, excluding University holidays and closures.
- Qualtrics use is restricted to university-related work
- Any survey conducted for research purposes must be approved by a UNC Institutional Review Board (IRB) prior to contact with subjects
- If you anticipate leaving the university and need your surveys to remain active, please submit an ownership transfer request in advance
- Do not create an account directly at qualtrics.com, as you will not have access to your surveys or data if you do so
- Go to Qualtrics - Software Distribution - Information Technology Services to sign up for a Qualtrics account.
